Solar photovoltaic panels require little or no maintenance – no need to wash or dust. Usually the rain will take care of any dust or debris.

September Celebrates National Plug In Day.

National Plug In Day is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Throughout the weekend of September 28 - 29, 2013, events across the US and other countries will celebrate the third annual National Plug In Day.

Each celebration event will be led by local plug-in drivers and advocates and will include some combination of EV parades, ride-and-drives, electric tailgate parties, press conferences, award ceremonies, informational booths, and more. Plug In America, Sierra Club, and the Electric Auto Association (EAA) serve as the national team providing support to the events throughout the country.

We are pleased to partner with other members of the Mississippi Chapter of  the  EAA to promote the event in Mississippi.

Some Interesting Facts about Plug In Electric Vehicles:

1.      Not what you expect:  Electric vehicles are a blast to drive! 100% torque at 0rpm.

2.      Quiet and Smooth

3.      Cheaper and easier to maintain. Plugging In makes driving far more convenient. We charge at home, which means our “tanks” are always full when we leave the house. We seldom, and many of us never, have to make a trip to a gas station. Imagine paying the equivalent of about $0.75 per gallon of gas and almost nothing for maintenance or repairs

4.      Electric Vehicles are selling better out of the gate than expected. Although, numbers of EVs sold in Mississippi are rising, nearly 120,000 Plug In Vehicles have been sold in the US.  The sales through July 2013 reached 48,000.

5.       We expect the sales of these vehicles to be better out in the Western States. However, Georgia ranks No. 3 in Plug In Electric Vehicle sales.

6.      Plug In Vehicles on American roads now outnumber the gas stations they whiz past.
